Oricon Roundup 7/12: Perfume Reigns

ORICON ROUNDUP: Perfume has clinched their first no.1 weekly ranking on the Oricon Singles Charts this week with their new single love the world. The fresh techno pop track was boosted by the girl's soaring popularity following their hugely successful album GAME, released in April. With 80.7K copies sold, they easily beat 2nd placed Tsume, Tsume, Tsume/[F] (Maximum The Hormone) which sold a handy 68.7K.

H!P idols Berryz Koubou were unable to match their previous single's high sales, but came close with Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance selling just shy of 30K and placing 4th on the charts. Arashi's One Love charted at 5th bringing its 3 week total close to 393K while, after the success of Soba ni Iru ne (444K), Aoyama Thelma's new single charted at a disappointing 6th. Last weeks no.1 SUMMER SONG (Yui) dropped just outside the top 10 at no.11 selling 14.1K

Baka group Shuuchishin clung on to the top 10 at no.9 this week with Nakanaide. The trio will team with Satoda Mai's Pabo as Aladdin, releasing Hi wa, Mata Noboru on the 30th of July.

On the albums chart, ORANGE RANGE edged out GReeeeN for the no.1 spot by just 8K. GReeeeN continues impressive sales in their 3rd week on the chart, bringing their total sales for A, Domo. Ohisashiburu Desu. to almost 565K. Ayaka's Sing to the Sky, also in its 3rd week, charted 3rd.
