PREVIEW: Singer/Cellist Wakeshima Kanon is releasing her 2nd single Suna no Oshiro (Sand Castle) on the 12th of November and the PV has been released. T'is fantastic:
After Kanon's debut still doll, I was eagerly awaiting her followup single and Suna no Oshiro is a great new single. I had heard a preview of it months back from the Vampire Knight closing theme, but in full it's even better. The chorus really brings the whole song together and it has that same haunting element that made still doll so entrancing. At first I thought it wasn't as strong as still doll, but it's really grown on me.
The PV is pretty incredible. I really love the idea of it with the sand and it's shot beautifully. Kanon was a bit hidden in the still doll PV (even in the preview shots) but it seems they are now satisfied with her look and she's on full display. She's quite adorable ^_^ I never knew playing the cello could be so sexy! Those scenes are breath taking and the ending is really interesting and unique.
I'm going to just skip the rant about a less popular artist like Wakeshima getting a PV which is yards above anything MM or H!P has done quality wise ... urgh, and so the love/hate relationship goes on ;)
I want to buy this and support Kanon but I promised myself I'd cut back on my imports due to the $AUS crappy freefall recently. Why must my money be so worthless! *cries* It's an anime theme so if I'm lucky they might have it here (a friend of mine recently tipped me off on a local store where I can try my luck).
Anywhoo...
Suna no Oshiro is on sale from the 12th of November and is the ED for the second series of Vampire Knight, which began last week.
