New Star 9/14: Another Recap

Continuing on from yesterday's recap of the 9/13 show, here is all the happenings of yesterday's episode of New Star!

This episode continues on from the previous, with a number of new shuffle groups performing for the judges. Interestingly some girls perform twice while others don't. I have no idea why.

Onto the show! Last episode we left off with Frances (that seems to be Wu Zhao Xian's nickname) & Aiko in quite cute Chance! outfits, however at the start of the show they are nowhere to be seen. They come up much later on. Instead first up is...

Ke Min Peng (17) - Ge Xiang Ling (13) - Lai Yun Qi (10)

These three girls call themselves High High Girl and they perform an energetic dance routine to ABBA's Mamma Mia! (Kill me now!) The female judge starts clapping during the middle of the performance, I think she likes it. The whole performance is quite high energy and they actually sing which is a plus. Lai Yun Qi in particular seems to have a lot of stage presence. They do a clean sweep of the voting panel, scoring 5 out of 5 flashing flowers. Good job girls!

Following ABBA we have...

Zeng De Ping (17) - Chen Mei Xuan (22) - Wang Zhi Wen / Wenwen (17)

Once again I have to comment on Mei, she looks like a star: Dead set stunner. These girls perform Remember by S.H.E. It's not bad though it's definitely not good. They are ok at singing and I wouldn't say anyone was much better than the others. It seemed slightly unprepared, they floundered around quite a bit (WenWen probably looked the most out of place). They ended up getting no flashing flowers which is slightly harsh in my opinion, it wasn't THAT bad. Zeng De Ping secures her place in the competition for another week by making the judges laugh by doing impersonations.

Onto...

Wu Si Auan (20) - Fan Qin Yu (13)

The next two girls come out in sexy black and white outfits. They announce they'll be dancing to Britney Spears and Madonna's Me Against the Music and burn up the floor with a pretty good dance routine which includes crumping and floor gyrations (those will come in handy in H!P *sarcasm alert*) Like last episode, Fan Qin Yu is an awesome dancer and Wu Si Auan is just as good but they only get 2 flashing flowers. They didn't sing which may have been one of the reason. I thought it was pretty good, but what do I know? They end up talking to these two for AGES, I skipped past most of it.

Now to the littlies...

Wu Zhao Xian / Frances (8) - Lan Ai Zi / Aiko (6)

(at this point my player stuffed up and I switched to Todou which has an ugly grey square over the logo in the top right hand corner, making my crappy screen caps even crappier. Sorry!)

These two cuties introduce themselves and 2 of the judges lock in their flashing flower votes immediately (way to be impartial guys >.< ) They are wearing minature versions of Koha's Chance! outfit and do indeed perform Chance! I want to say that they are singing in Japanese, but I honestly cannot tell. It's all shouting and squealing to me. The judges are intranced, ooohing and aaaahing in between all the dance moves. They finish and the remaining judges lock in their votes (5 out of 5). The little one mouths off during the judging and everyone laughs at how cute she it. She reminds me of a mini Hagitty.

Onto the final performance...

Su Lin Xin (14) - Su Luo Yu (11) - Lin Si Yu (13)

These three decide to perform Buono!'s Kiss!Kiss!Kiss and imaginatively name themselves Kiss!Kiss!Kiss (obviously the other two have been brainwashed by the H!P loving Risafan!). They're wearing cute school girl outfits and look the part. They don't actually sing this which is quite a disappointment and the choreography is not exact but all in all it's pretty decent. For some reason they get no flashing flowers, the judges must be cracking down on the no singing in this episode. Oh well...

Elimination Time!!! (this section obviously contains spoilers, look at your own risk):

The girls all huddle together nervously, awaiting the announcement of the eliminated contestants.

The head judge dude comes out with his fancy heart note book (it has hearts on it) and announces that three contestants will be eliminated and, unlike last week, these girls will REALLY be eliminated.

First girl to be eliminated: WanWan

I get this one, she wasn't very impressive in either of her performances and looked very uncomfortable on stage.

Next girl to be eliminated: Lin Si Yu

Huh?.. wtf? Don't get this at all. She was good in both her performances (even though the judges didn't seem to like the second). I thought she was a front runner?

Last to be eliminated: Lai Yun Qi

Even bigger "WTF!?" This girl is just 10 years old and was one of the best in these set of episodes. She got 4 stars for her first performance and 5 for her second. What are the judges on?

Once again, these were the three I reported had been eliminated last week because of the premature article on the website. Sorry!Sorry!Sorry!

Anyway, the elder two handle it quite gracefully but Lai Yun Qi is shell shocked, staring at the floor in disbelief. They all have a chance to say their goodbyes and thankyous.

Lai Yun Qi is unable to muster up the courage to say anything and her Dad comes on stage to comfort her. *aww*

Anyway, they previewed next week and are still advertising Tsunku's arrival (despite his appearance being canceled yesterday) so I guess it isn't being postponed much at all. Maybe it's being filmed today. One week left till we find out the new H!P member/s. Yay!
